5th Dimension Construction started with the idea of maximizing the minimal. Basically taking unused, existing space and making it functional for homeowners. It’s the same principle as tiny houses; create functional luxury without a large footprint. The tough part is getting people to understand what that truly means.
We, as a society, have been trained to believe that square footage is the ultimate milestone when it comes to our home. More square footage means more space, which is the goal for more stuff. However, what if I told you that the same thing can usually be accomplished by maximizing the cubic footage in a home? Most people usually nod their heads and have a glazed look in their eyes. It’s a concept that takes some getting used to which makes it a niche market, but it’s there. We refer to this as custom cerebral remodeling. Whether it’s a kitchen, bathroom, home office, attic space, wine cellar, etc, we can pretty much do whatever homeowners can dream up. We make sure to keep the budget realistic and all of the numbers are completely transparent. We can build tiny structures, in home retreats (sound resistant areas where you can get down with your inner voices...or yell), and the like. Our goal isn’t to be the typical cookie-cutter remodeling firm because those are everywhere. We want to change the narrative of what can be accomplished in an existing space (or a new one) and give people a reason to really enjoy their home. Now, more than ever, a home needs to be more than where you just sleep and eat. It needs to be a school, an office, a gym, a theater, and so much more.
